As a photographer, and more importantly as a mom, I understand how quickly children grow and change – one minute you are welcoming them home from the hospital and the next they are riding their tricycle in the driveway. Through my photography, I strive to capture these precious moments and create inspired images that will become cherished family heirlooms.
Kids are whimsical and fun-loving. Put them in a comfortable setting and smiles come naturally. The focus shifts from having their picture taken to just having fun. With each and every shoot, my primary goal is to capture the curious and beautiful personality of your child.
Shooting on location lends itself perfectly to my photojournalistic style of portraiture. Rather than directing a pose for each and every shot, I spend part of the session as a silent observer allowing the child to enjoy and explore the setting. At home, at a park, or at the beach, kids can be themselves and don’t have to “work” at putting on their happy faces. I use natural light and the beautiful backdrops of various locations to achieve a look that is classic and unique.
